Kinder

Web design & UX/UI for Kinder's annual contest landing page.

OVERVIEW

Every year Kinder runs a contest giving families the chance to win a trip, and this year the destination was Costa Rica. The landing page needed to do a few things at once — get kids excited enough to enter, clearly lay out the prizes across three winner tiers, and showcase a lineup of 31 new toys split across two themed collections: under the sea creatures and Latin American land animals.

Designing for kids comes with its own set of rules. Everything had to stay tightly within Kinder’s brand guidelines so it felt consistent with their wider world, and with children as the target audience, the legal review process was thorough — every element scrutinized before anything went live. Beyond the visuals, the job included building out the full UX/UI flow for the development team and handling QA once it was built.

Alongside the landing page, two print pieces were designed to be mailed out to all contest winners. The first was a winner’s certificate, and the second was a double-sided activity sheet — keeping the Kinder fun going beyond the screen. The activity sheet featured four classic kids’ activities: a word scramble, a coloring illustration, a maze, and a connect the dots.
